A Weeklong Love Challenge for Kids and Siblings: Living Out “Love One Another”
As parents and caregivers, one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is teaching them how to love like Jesus. In John 13:34, Jesus commands, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
What better way to nurture this in our homes than with a weeklong Love Challenge? This fun, faith-based challenge encourages kids and siblings to practice Christ-like love through simple acts of service, forgiveness, and uplifting words.
In this blog, you’ll find everything you need to start a Love One Another Challenge that will strengthen your children’s relationships with each other—and with Jesus.
Why a Love Challenge?
Sibling relationships often set the foundation for future friendships and relationships. By intentionally teaching children to show love through action, words, and forgiveness, we help them live out their faith daily. This challenge focuses on three key areas:
• Service: Teaching humility and kindness
• Forgiveness: Cultivating a heart of grace
• Words of Affirmation: Speaking life and encouragement
How the Love One Another Challenge Works
Each day of the week, your children will have a simple, intentional “Love Challenge” to complete. These daily activities are rooted in Scripture and designed to be practical, fun, and meaningful.
Here’s how you can organize the week:

Scripture Focus: Galatians 5:13 — “Serve one another humbly in love.”
Challenge: Help a sibling with a chore or small task without being asked—and do it joyfully!
Day 2: Forgive Quickly
Scripture Focus: Ephesians 4:32 — “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Challenge: Practice forgiving a sibling right away when they wrong you. Share examples together at dinner.
Day 3: Speak Life

Challenge: Give three genuine compliments to your siblings today.
Day 4: Pray for Each Other

Challenge: Spend a few minutes praying specifically for each sibling. Share one thing you prayed about if comfortable.
Day 5: Share Joy
Scripture Focus: Romans 12:15 — “Rejoice with those who rejoice.”
Challenge: Celebrate something good that happened to your sibling—big or small!
Day 6: Listen First
Scripture Focus: James 1:19 — “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”
Challenge: Practice listening carefully to your sibling without interrupting or getting upset.
Day 7: Write a Love Note
Scripture Focus: 1 Thessalonians 5:11 — “Encourage one another and build each other up.”
